National FBO Platform Consolidation
Multi-Site Expansion with National FBO Platform Consolidation
Client: Top-tier FBO Chain
Initial Engagement: Single-site fuel farm project
Outcome: Expanded into work at multiple locations, a preferred partnership relationship
The Situation
National FBO platform hired American Environmental Aviation (AEAV) to build a new Fuel Farm at one of their existing locations. They were so satisfied and happy with the results that AEAV became the preferred partner for all of their Fuel Farm needs across all of their locations nationwide.
The Challenges
- Existing fuel infrastructure was 30 years old, built in 1995, could only hold 96,000 gallons of Jet fuel, and didn’t pump fast enough.
- Slow pumping rate equals slow turnaround time for jet fueling and loss of revenue.
- In addition, they needed to double the fuel holding capacity within the same footprint; there was no significant physical room to grow.
AEAV Solution
AEAV delivered a full turnkey system (design – fabrication – installation), built a state-of-the-art fuel farm with 3 different locations for offloading & loading, which pumps 400 gallons per minute simultaneously and holds 180,000 gallons of Jet Fuel, which is more than double their previous fuel storage capacity, and built a retention pit, and built emergency fuel control valving system, to prevent accidental fuel spills to leak into the soil and cause environmental damage. It also has a lighted canopy, an air-conditioned QAQC shed, and ample lighting.
AEAV self-performed all phases, eliminating coordination delays and completing the project within the required operational timeline without interfering with active FBO fueling operations.
The timeline was critical to avoid revenue disruption.
